Deal of the Day

Amethyst Verona Crystal Drop Chandelier, 19"H x 20"Dia. Limited Quantity @ $445 ea., reduced from $720 ea.

Amethyst Verona Crystal Drop Wall Sconce (below), 21"H x 18"W x 10"D. Limited Quantity @ $275 ea., reduced from $498 ea.

Amethyst is a HUGE color this Fall and is thought to increase spiritual awareness, enhance intuition and ward against negativity...something we can ALL probably use right now! Personally, I love Amethyst when used in tandem with shades of grey and charcoal.

If you are looking to up the glamour factor on the lighting fixtures featured above, have them leafed locally in either gold, white gold or silver. Tres chic.

The Eduardo Garza drawer pulls above are available through DOXA, please phone.

A well implemented tablescape is the finishing touch that every room needs regardless of aesthetic or pedigree. At DOXA we are adamant about what we refer to as a "barefoot" approach to luxury and the photos above express this belief beautifully. By including natural items such as fresh florals, branches, fruit and chunks of rock crystal along side prestigious works of art and collectibles, the mood is warm and inviting and not the least bit pretentious. Note the architecture of each tablescape as that consideration is essential in creating not only movement and interest but also dialog between the items. Also be mindful of the negative space below a table which is a wonderful place to play up a bit of contrast, as Vicente Wolf did by using an opulent stool underneath a clean lined center table and Jeffrey Bilhuber's use of a rush basket filled with galoshes under a more formal, marble topped console. It is these contrast and layers which add depth and context to the vignettes. Last but not least, utilizing books in creating tablescapes is a particularly favorite choice of mine. It is a great way to not only create the aforementioned architecture but also keeps them within reach of both one's self as well one's guest. Please email us your tablescapes as we will select one (or more) and profile it in a future post, looking forward to seeing the submissions!
